Small Dog Sweater
To begin making our dog sweater we will start with a chain 37, then in second chain from our hook make a half double crochet in that stitch and then the remaining 35 stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Row two and three make a half double crochet in each 36 stitches across. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Row four make 2 half double crochet in the first stitch, half double crochet in the next 34 stitches and then make 2 half double crochet in the last stitch. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Row five make one half double crochet in each 38 stitchs across. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Row six make 2 half double crochet in the first stitch, half double crochet in the next 36 stitches, then 2 half double crochet in the last stitch. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Row seven through ten half double crochet in each of the 40 stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work.
Row eleven half double crochet in each of the 40 stitches then slip stitch to the first half double crochet to make a tube. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Row twelve through seventeen half double crochet in each of the 40 stitches. Slip stitch, chain 1 and turn your work.
Leg holes:
Row eighteen half double crochet in the first 3 stitches, chain 6, skip 6 stitches, half double crochet in the next 22 stitches, chain 6, skip 6 stitches, then half double crochet in the last 3 stitches. Slip stitch, chain 1 and turn your work.
Row nineteen through twenty-one make half double crochet in each of the 40 stitches. Slip stitch, chain 1 and turn your work.
Row twenty-two make a half double crochet in the first 12 stitches, then half double crochet two together, then half double crochet in the next 12 stitches, then half double crochet two together, then half double crochet in the last 12 stitches. Slip stitch, chain 1 and turn your work for the last time.
Row twenty-three through twenty-five make a half double crochet in the first stitch then make a front post double crochet in the next. Repeat pattern (hdc, fpdc) around. Slip stitch, chain 1. Be sure not to turn you want all of your front post double crochet on the outside of the sweater.
Row twenty-six make a front post double crochet around each stitch. Chain 1 and fasten off.
Finishing touches:
Connect yarn to leg hole with a slip stitch and make half double crochet around each leg hole. Slip stitch to first half double crochet, chain 1 and fasten off.
Connect yarn to bottom V opening with a slip stitch then single crochet around the bottom and the V opening of the sweater. Slip stitch, chain 1 and fasten off.
