Bluey/ Bingo Character Pattern Blog

My kids are in love with the Australian animated show Bluey and who am I kidding? That is why I have created this Bluey/ Bingo Character Pattern Blog to share with you! So much family humor and values. It is such a heart warming family dynamics with lovable characters.

Bluey acts as a source of comfort some episodes are heart-warming and others are sad and later end with a messages that will leave you feeling good.

Materials:

For Bluey I use Dark Blue, Baby Blue and White Yarn

For Bingo I use Coral, Peach and White Yarn

We begin making a blue/baby blue hat or dark coral/ peach if making Bingo.

Therefore, you may use your own hat pattern or click on my easy to follow hat pattern that works up quickly by using a Cluster Stitch.

Cluster stitch:

Yarn over, insert hook in the next Stitch, yarn over and pull
up a loop. Yarn over and draw through 2 loops on the hook, yarn over,
insert hook into the same stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over
and draw through 2 loops on hook, yarn over and draw through all 3
loops on the hook.

Bluey/ Bingo character crochet pattern would be great for Birthday’s, Halloween or everyday wear.

Space between eyes:

First using your 4mm crochet hook and using baby blue yarn or off white if making bingo. Start with a chain 3, in second chain from the hook make single crochet. Single crochet in the next stitch. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Make 2 single crochet in first stitch, and 2 single crochet in next. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Make one single crochet in each stitch across. Chain 1 and turn your work. Make 2 single crochet in first stitch. Single crochet in the next 2 stitches. Then 2 single crochet in last stitch. Chain 1 turn your work.

Now working a total of thirteen rows we will continue by making 1 single crochet in each stitch across. Chain 1 and turn your work.

After completing all thirteen rows chain 1 and make one single crochet in each stitch around. With a total of 3 single crochets in the top making it round. Chain 1 and fasten off. Leaving a long tail to attach to your hat.

Making the white eyes:

Using your 4 mm crochet hook we will make two eyes.

Begin by making 6 single crochet in a magic circle and then pull the yarn tail tight.

Make 3 single crochet in the first stitch. 2 single crochet in the next. Then single crochet in the next stitch. 3 single crochet in next stitch. 2 single crochet in the next stitch. Single crochet in the next stitch.

Single crochet in next stitch. 2 single crochet in the next three stitches,. Then single crochet in the next three stitches. 2 single crochet in the next three stitches and single crochet in the next two stitches.

Single crochet in the next two stitches. 2 single crochet in the next stitch,. Single crochet. 2 single crochet in the next stitch. Single crochet. Then 2 single crochet in the next stitch. Single crochet. 2 single crochet. Then single crochet in the next four stitches.

2 single crochet in next stitch. Single crochet. 2 single crochet in next stitch. Then single crochet. 2 single crochet. Then single crochet in the next four stitches.

2 single crochet in next. Single crochet. 2 single crochet in next. Single crochet. 2 single crochet in next. Single crochet in next 7 stitches. 2 single crochet in next.

Single crochet. 2 single crochet. Single crochet. 2 single crochet in next stitch. Single crochet in next 5 stitches. Chain 1 and fasten off, leaving long tail to attach to your hat.

Snout:

Using your 4mm crochet hook and using tan yarn or off white if making bingo.

Start with a chain 3 and in a magic circle make 2 double crochet. Then triple crochet, (then make 3 double crochet and 1 triple crochet) three times.

Slip stich in the top of the chain 3.

Chain 3, in the triple crochet space from previous round (make 2 double crochet, then triple crochet, then 2 double crochet) three times.

Slip stitch in top of chain 3. Chain 1 and fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail to attach to out hat.

Making black eyes:

Using your 4 mm crochet hook we will make two black eyes, starting with a chain 2.

Then half double crochet 9 in magic circle.

Pull yarn tail tight and slip stitch to first half double crochet.

Chain 1 and fasten off, leaving long tail to attach to white eye.

Nose:

Using 4mm crochet hook and black yarn.

Start with a chain 3, in second chain from our hook make single crochet. Then single crochet in next two stitches. Chain 1, then make single crochet two together in the first and third stitch skipping the second stitch all together.

Chain 1 and single crochet around making 2 single crochet in the tip of the nose. Where we made the previous chain 1.

Chain 1 and fast off leaving long tail to attach to the snout.

Lastly, make your smile with the same yarn.

Eyebrows:

Using 4mm crochet hook and baby blue or off white yarn if making bingo.

Start with a chain 10 and in the third chain from our hook make a half double crochet. Half double crochet in next seven stitches.

Chain 1 and fasten off, leaving a long tail to attach to our hat.

Inner Ear:

Using a 5mm crochet hook and tan or peach yarn if making bingo.

Begin making the inner ear by starting with a chain 9, in second chain from hook make single crochet.

Single crochet in next seven stitches. chain 1 and turn your work.

Single crochet in all eight stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Make a single crochet two together. Then single crochet in next four stitches, then make single crochet two together with last two stitches.

Chain 1 and turn your work. Single crochet in all six stitches, chain 1 and turn your work.

Make single crochet two together. Then single crochet in next 2 stitches, then make single crochet two together with the last two stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work. Single crochet in all 4 stitch, chain 1 and turn your work.

Single crochet two together a total of two times, chain 1 and turn your work.

Then single crochet 2 together with last two remaining stitches, chain 1 and fasten off.

Outer Ear and border:

Now using navy blue or dark coral if making bingo.

Start with a chain 9, in second chain from hook make single crochet.

Single crochet in next seven stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Single crochet in all eight stitches, chain 1 and turn your work.

Make a single crochet two together.

Single crochet in next four stitches. Single crochet two together with last two stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Single crochet in all six stitches, chain 1 and turn your work.

Make single crochet two together. Single crochet in next 2 stitches.

Then make single crochet two together with the last two stitches. Chain 1 and turn your work.

Single crochet in all 4 stitch, chain 1 and turn your work.

Make single crochet two together a total of two times.Chain 1 and turn your work.

Lastly single crochet 2 together with last two remaining stitches.

Now placing the inner ear on top of the outer ear we will attach by making single crochet through both pieces.

First make 2 single crochet in top of the ear.

Then single crochet along the side. 2 single crochet in first corner. Then single crochet across the bottom and then make 2 single crochet in next corner.

Single crochet along other side then make one more single crochet in the same stitch that we made the first two single crochet in. Slip stich to first single crochet.

Chain 1 and fasten off leaving a long tail to attach the ear to your hat.

Braids:

At the same time grab the navy blue, baby blue and white for Bluey.

Dark coral, peach and white for bingo.

Then cut each of them approximately 24 inches long four times creating 12 pieces of yarn for each ear flap.

Do the same thing for the other ear flap.

Place your crochet hook in the hole of the ear flap. Grab the grouping of yarn in the middle then pull the yarn through the hole using your crochet hook.

Pull the yarn through the loop set down your crochet hook and use your hand to grab the long tails through the yarn loop and make a knot.

Pull your yarn tight after separating each color.

Begin braiding and make a loose knot at the bottom.

Do the same for the other ear flap and make a loose knot again.

Make the braid length even then tighten the knots at the bottom and trim remaining yarn after the knot to look neat!
